Emerald Viewer
Emerald Viewer is sadly no longer with us, it has been officially banned from connecting to Second Life. Don't be too sad though, there is a knock-off version here:
Pheonix Viewer . It has most of the same features of Emerald, except for the controversial faster rezzing capabilities. Personal opinison: While the program to speed rezzing had no place in the viewer without giving knowledge to us users, I do miss the speed. God, I miss the faster rezzing. :(

Second Life Bug
Ever since I lost my faster rezzing capabilities thanks to Emerald Viewer being banned, every once in a while I experience a problem where my avatar's shape and clothing fail to load, i'm im left as a cloud/white blob of nothingness. Everyone else says they can see me fine (most of the time) but i'm a cloud on my screen. No matter how many times I rebaked my textures nothing would show. The first time it happened I did this:

1) Gave my sl husband my account password, and had him long in.
2) Had him take off all of my avatar's clothing, and switch my skin and shape to a default one.
3) Logged back into my account and WOOT fixed. Just had to redress my avatar and such. (Which is why it's always good to make a backup folder in your inventory of your most common avatar components)

But i'm sure most of you don't want to give someone else your account info and instead of bothering my hubby again I googled my problem. I came up with this:

1. go in the "Advanced" client menu.
2. go in "Character"
3. select "Character Tests"
4. select "Test Male" or "Test female" regarding your situation
(Made by Zdenka Jun )

Normally, it will load the basic avatar. After that, you will be able to load your own shape and skin and clothes.

If you don't know how to get to the Advanced menu please google it! Clients are different and such, so i'm not going to say how to get there.

You can read the origional post of the 2nd solution here: Character Test Solution.

I like Jun's solution much better. ;)

Second Life: Zoobys!
A couple of days ago I purchased a Zooby Ultimate Black Husky for 2,800 Lindens. I wasn't sure if I really wanted to spend that much on an sl pet, but it turned out to be worth it. He's cute, he barks, eats, pees, and plays. You can walk him, you can ride him. There are just so many possibilities!

[Linden Labs]:

Dear Second Life Resident,
Late last week, we discovered a denial-of-service attack that was being served through the widely distributed Emerald third-party viewer. This is in direct violation of our third-party viewer policy (part 2, section d, paragraph iii).

We have removed Emerald from the list of third-party viewers, and are now in touch with the Emerald team to discuss what can happen next. We did this to do our best to protect the safety and security of Second Life users. We will not tolerate a viewer that includes malicious code, nor will we tolerate development teams with a history of violating users’ trust or disrupting their lives.

We take privacy, safety, and security very seriously, and we will act to the best of our abilities to protect it. We have not yet disabled logins via the Emerald viewer, but will do so if we feel the software and the team behind it is not able to meet the standards we’ve set. While Emerald is currently the focus of our attention because of what happened recently, all third-party viewers are held to the same standard, and must comply with the third-party viewer policy. Read more >>

If you have been using the Emerald viewer, for now we would encourage you to consider either one of the Linden Lab viewers, or an alternative third-party viewer.

Philip Linden

[Emerald]:

As many of you have heard, Emerald was removed from the TPVD yesterday. This removal was a result of recent actions by former Dev member Fractured Crystal. Fractured resigned from the team due to those actions and Emerald Dev Team has undergone a massive restructuring. We will be re-applying for the TPVD very soon, however there are some rumors and fears I think need to be addressed.
Many people have heard that Emerald is banned or that users will be banned for using the Emerald Viewer. This is completely untrue.
Linden Lab’s Third Party Viewer Directory is optional for third party viewers to apply for and join. It is not a requirement to be on the directory. What is a requirement however is that third party viewers respect the Third Party Viewer Policy http://secondlife.com/corporate/tpv.php. With the exception of the actions of Fractured recently, Emerald has always respected that policy and will continue to do so.
While Emerald is not on the TPVD you can rest assured that this does not mean Emerald will be banned or blocked by LL, and you will certainly NOT be banned for using emerald.
Sincerely, Jessica Lyon
Don't we all love stupid rumors? I'm not in groups to be tricked by gossip thank you very much. *leaves group*
And no, this isn't slander. It's the truth, it's what they did. Also, if they read the official statement OR watched the treet.tv video, they would have known their passwords were never at risk. Some confidential computer information such as where Emerald was stored on your hard drive and your computer user profile name was at risk if you were either a Mac user or installed Emerald to your desktop on a PC. No one wants someone else to know this information but let's at least get the facts right. And where the hell did a "crime" come from? I don't even want to get started on that.

Definition: Slander: Charge falsely or with malicious intent; attack the good name and reputation of someone.

Not false accusations. :)

Enough about that, moving on to the truth. Both parties [Emerald and Linden Labs] are handling this very professionally. They're making official statements on what is going on so that we know exactly how to react to all this chaos. As I blogged a little while ago, Emerald isn't banned. Linden Labs just have to re-check it again to make sure it's safe for its users again.

Fractured Crystal, the previous leader of the Emerald Project did some real damage to Emerald user's trust. Do I think the Emerald Viewer will suffer a loss of users because of this? Of course. We all want the ability to trust the programs we use. Emerald may never be the same again, but that doesn't mean i'm giving up on it just yet. It's done so much to make my clumsy self in Second Life so much less clumsy; there's no other Second Life client for me right now.Inuoko Shikamihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15225943949089007857noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-558527528224426434.post-59791704542740459772010-08-23T01:27:00.000-04:002010-08-23T01:27:46.895-04:00Currently Net-Stalking Peter KiersThere's this awesome guy I met in Second Life, his name is Peter Kiers in real life. So anyway the last time I spoke with him (a couple of days ago) he mentioned he was working on a game (here). I loved how he tried to casually slip in "I'm working on a game" into every day conversation. He's so cute lol. I've tried coding, that's not an "every day thing". There's a reason why I don't want to be a Software Developer anymore; coding isn't for me.

So yeah, now i'm sorta net-stalking him; snooping around his Twitter and what-not...Would help if it were in ENGLISH...or just one Peter Kiers on the net..I'm still trying to find his Facebook :(..So anyway i've decided that i'll try and get an interview with him about this game idea later on (and shake his Facebook profile out of him) I'll keep you posted. :)Inuoko Shikamihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15225943949089007857noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-558527528224426434.post-59807504355093465072010-08-23T00:22:00.000-04:002010-08-23T00:22:49.686-04:00New Emerald Viewer Leader on Treet.tvA few hours ago the new leader of the Emerald Viewer Project along with another member of the staff appeared on Treet.tv (here) today to talk about what happened with Emerald's former leader Fractured Crystal.

Arabella Steadham is her name in Second Life. She and Jessica Lyon answered some pretty serious questions about the road Emerald Viewer had gone down. As far as users new, the Emerald Project staff seemed to be quite open with us on the Modular Systems blog (here) but Steadham claims otherwise, and that our trusted Frac went as far as to add code to the viewer that could potentially put almost anyone's computer at risk. Were we really at risk? No, I don't think so, but we could have been. Linden Labs seemed to think so, by taking Emerald Viewer off of it's "Third Party Viewer Directory" listing (here).

But i'm sure Emerald users have noticed that the Emerald Viewer hasn't been officially banned by Linden Labs (seeing as we can still use it) they just are not supporting it at the moment. Apparently they don't find Emerald Viewer a big enough of a threat to Second Life users. Steadham hopes to have that fixed as soon as possible. The bad code? She claims it has all been removed, and that even some of the Emerald Project members have been banned from the team as well.

Some key points:

- I truly believe that the Emerald Viewer is safe.
- I don't believe that Fractured Crystal will turn around and harm Emerald; he willingly gave the Emerald Project to Steadham and posted an apologetic blog entry about his shameful acts.
- Emerald is no longer being run by one person like a "republican" team, but democratic. Steadham is only overseeing the areas where she has no choice but to have someone in charge (ie hosting the servers).
- Steadham's hair matched with her cute pale skin is incredibly cute. ;)

All in all, I suggest Emerald Users just wait this mess out, Steadham has made it quite clear that what's left of the Emerald Project team are working hard to get all issues sorted, and are open to answering any questions or concerns we may have by contacting them in world. I have a feeling that before we know it everything will be back to normal and I have faith that the Emerald team will keep us posted on what's going on.
I'm soooo glad I did. Now Emerald Viewer is all I ever use. A while after Viewer 2 came out I did give it a try and it was HORRIBLE. I hated it in approximately 2 hours. Not disliked, hated. My friend told me that Emerald had recently released a beta with alpha layers. It was a bit buggy but it was much better than Viewer 2. Those said bugs seemed to be fixed after another beta release, and now everything seems to run quite smoothly. I learned a lesson; never use anything but Emerald Viewer!

Every time I use Second Life Viewer I have some sort of problem with it. It's too laggy, and who the hell has time to learn new controls anyway? I've had an sl account since 2006, why would I want to learn a new client now? Besides, Emerald Viewer is packed with useful and fun features. Ok some aren't useful like changing the color your name/tag displays in to other Emerald Users, but it's still fun!

Long live Emerald!

On a side note, you will be missed Frac, creator of the Emerald Project. :(( If you didn't know, he posted about him resigning from the team.
ROUGH TRANSCRIPT OF PHILIP'S SPEECH ABOUT THE TEEN GRID

Phillip Linden

The final thing I wanted to talk about, which is probably the most contentious thing, but it's important to have it out, is the teen grid.

Our long term goal, and we've touched on this a little bit publicly before, is to unify activities on the main grid. If you think about the economy statement that I made earlier, the big thing with Second Life is that people can create and share content. The strength of the grid and the success of many of us in here is the fact that we have access to content.

We made a mistake when we launched the teen grid; not letting teenagers in - that's been fantastic - and the educational activities and all the things that have happened in there are great. The mistake that we made was setting it up so the content couldn't be shared between the two grids. And as you guys all know what that caused is essentially the main grid grew exponentially. The teen grid grew, actually for the statistic nerds, the teen grid grows exponentially as well, but it started much later and did not get as many people on it initially...when you have competing exponential growth curves, it's kind of forever hampered, it can never win because the content on the main grid essentially dwarfs the content on the teen grid and there's no access to the two.

So the question is how do we deal with this, what's the best strategy going forward given that we have a ton of activities on the teen grid... and I'd call out educational activities as a special, very wonderful and opportunistic part of Second Life's forward edge of development that are happening there.

So here's what we're gonna do. Very soon, and you'll see an announcement on this, I think next week, you'll see an announcement imminently on more details on this...some of them I don't even have in my head, although you can ask me questions about it.

The first thing we are going to do is we're gonna take the 16- and 17- year old users on the teen grid and we're going to convert them into the main grid. We're going to give them notice on this and there will be a process, but basically we're going to allow those users to transfer onto the main grid.

We believe that the content filtering and protections that we've put in place over the last couple of years are adequate for that age of users, and you'll see us doing other things to support them in the coming months, but we think that's a reasonable strategy. We think that age of user is fine interacting on the main grid with the content controls that we've set in place.

The younger part of the grid, for now, we are basically going to turn off, so that is going to be a big concern short term, but what we are going to do on that front is we are going to work with the educators and other individuals who have been doing specific content development inside teen Second Life and figure out what forward-looking changes we can make to Second Life to support younger ages of users. We're going to be very careful...thank you...we're going to be careful about how we do that, but you will see us doing it. But the change that I can promise right now, step one, is to bring the 16- and 17-year olds onto the main grid and not...and basically shut down the rest of the teen grid for, and you'll see announcements on this in the staging, but for the younger users, but, and several of you have already had communications with folks like Terrence Linden who are talking about how to basically move this forward.

But that's a big change and that change has costs associated with it and I recognize that. We as a company have got to focus on where the greatest sort of resonance and exponential growth can be for all users, so that's a tough call, but I wanted to tell you guys about it here since there are a number of educators here and people who have thought long and hard about this...and I'm gonna be here over the next couple of days, today and tomorrow, and we can have a conversation about this and a few of those conversations have already started. So, okay, well. That's the end of the commitment list. Watch for us to do those things. Thanks. One a more entertaining note to wrap this up and move on to questions...

--------------
Cons: What the hell? Second Life is heavily covered in adult content and places. Sure Linden Labs have set up a nice amount of ways to keep un-age verified people out of places but who's to say that a group of smart teens just don't find some way around them? And if the 16 and 17 year olds are dragged to the main grid only, I could see some 15 year olds wanting to follow there friends at all cost. At this rate 90% of the residential houses will have to be age verified places. Nice job!

Pros: We'll get to see some our Grid counterparts; "getting a taste of the other side". I've always been curious about the Teen Grid. I'm sure they're curious about our Grid as well, especially if they glanced at Xstreet and saw all the awesome things it has to offer from clothes to game replicas. Besides curiosity, I can see adoption agencies getting some interesting traffic. I wouldn't mind taking a 16 year old under my prim wing.

Linden Labs seems like they're going through with this one, so let's wait and see what happens.

I will miss watching Inuyasha...I will miss the anime, the characters, the voices...I will miss being able to think "what if 'that' happened in an episode", because the sour feeling that would follow that thought would be "not only is 'that' outrageous, but the series is over.."...

I'm happy with the endings of all the characters. I only wonder what would happen if outsiders found the well...Or maybe they destroyed it after Kagome went through? Seems like a tough bite to chew with that, but..A well like that seems pretty dangerous to me. Sango and Miroku? That's just adorable. Sesshomaru and Rin? If the series were longer, I know in my heart he'd be with Rin. Not saying a relationship, just together...Inuyasha and Kagome? I'm sure they were thinking about kids! Haha!

All in all, I love the entire Inuyasha series, and i'm more than greatful that Final Act was made and released.

Great job Rumiko!

My mom was online, and asked me sort of randomly, "What's "Inuyasha The Final Act?"". Of course I was thinking, "Wtf is that?" SOOOO I immediately went straight to google and searched. Found out thanks to AMN (Anime News Network) that Inuyasha is back with a brand new series, woooot! Same drawing artist, loveable (and sometimes hateable) characters, same plot to defeat Naraku. So whats "new"?

Well, it's not as much "new" as it is a continuation of the series. They picked it back up from shortly after episode 167. Days, weeks, months? Who knows, but I don't believe "years" have passed.

A minor spoiler about the opening:

It's a familiar band to Inu-heads ;)

Haha that's all the spoilers i'm giving, watch it yourself! Where? Here, duh! :) I might not blog every ep, but I couldn't let myself go on without blogging the first. :)

Inuyasha - The Final Act: Episode 1, Naraku's Heart

Inuoko Shikamihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15225943949089007857noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-558527528224426434.post-48118147392230169372009-08-26T11:00:00.000-04:002009-08-26T11:00:12.849-04:00Ian's Shoelace Site - Sawtooth LacingIan's Shoelace Site - Sawtooth Lacing

Heres a cool way to lace your shoes, lol. Its a LOT better than I expected. Ok, it has some flaws- a few compatiblity issues, and Windows Aero- the "program" that gives your windows that glass-effect- likes to hide after system restarts...Its not THAT bad. Yea, it has a lot of running processes, but its not THAT bad. The key is to have a lot of RAM, otherwise known as memory. Now i'm not talking about hard drive space- the space you need to download/store files- i'm talking about the memory programs use to run. I have 4gbs of RAM, and I kinda love Vista...at the moment. :)

Ok, if you read my last post, you know i'm on a game-hunt. I tried out the following games:

1) Asda Story
2) Perfect World
3) Florensia

Asda Story is a cute anime-based game, wonderful graphics, leveling isnt too hard, creative monsters. You can even click on the map and your charater will move to that spot! The problem? GameGuard. If your computer works fine with the anti-hack software installed, I suggest playing it. Me, i'd rather not shut off my firewall and allow parts of my antivirus software to be crashed just for a game.

Perfect World has awesome graphics, near-PERFECT character customization (from humans to elves, cats, bats, and wolves lol), and pretty cool monsters. The problem? I've never played a mmorpg that took so long to damn level! Like my ex said, "its not the 'prefect world'".

Florensia is the game i'm currently playing..This and Angels Online, of course. It uses an anti-hack program like Asda Story, but a different one. This one doesnt crash programs on my computer :D! Cute graphics/scenery, coooool monsters, and doesnt take toooooo long to level. I suppose i'll stick around this game a little. ;D

Well thats all, happy 'puting ;)Inuoko Shikamihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15225943949089007857noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-558527528224426434.post-56611701316749570992009-08-06T19:37:00.002-04:002009-08-06T19:55:16.297-04:00Scared of Getting Vista? I Am.I dont even have Vista yet (hopefully I will tomorrow, if Fedex hurrys up. >.<'), and im pretty scared about what i've been reading today. Bluntly, everywhere I go they say Vista sucks ass. Inbetween trash-talking Microsoft/Microsoft & Vista, some people actually offer a little insight and relief to the problems. Does this help? I'll have to wait and see.

Helpful Vista Links:
http://exo-blog.blogspot.com/
http://www.techsupportalert.com/make-vista-run-faster.htm
http://xxhiroshi21xx.blogspot.com/
http://poormanpcreview.com/showthread.php?p=17986
http://www.blackviper.com/WinVista/servicecfg.htmInuoko Shikamihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15225943949089007857noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-558527528224426434.post-29072589165847840612009-08-06T16:28:00.002-04:002009-08-06T18:51:31.111-04:00It's been a while, but i'm back with TONS. :)Sorry all, i've been a little lazy this summer. :) But Fedex says my new notebook computer should be coming today. Well, there was a delay previously on my notebook, so I believe they're estimated arrival date is a day off unifortunately. So, hopefully i'll get it tomorrow at the latest. It will be a pretty lil thang, fully customized and is already paid for with 3 year warrenty. :) With school swiftly approaching, I hope it gets here soon.

Before I get into the good stuff, I'd like to quickly shoutout the Glenville Anime Club that yours truely is apart of. Sooo, if you're in Cleveland, Ohio feel free to come to the Glenville Library. Google Map: Glenville Highschool , and nearby is our area's library.

With that said, i'd like to note a few good anime titles to check out:
1. Fate Stay Night (Great combat, yet i'm not 100% into the "fight for the prize" storyline.)
2. Doll (kinda mature mind ya, a bit of sexual themes. Different stories, not all ecchi, wrapped into one book.)
3. Tsukihime (A "boy meets female vampire" story. Lot of blood/bodys being sliced in half)
4. Vampire Bund ("Werewolf boy protects vampire princess", looks almost sick due to the young-adult look of the boy matched with the princess whos an adult trapped in a kids body, yet has a great storyline, full of love, fighting/biting, friendship, and an ecchi princess.)

Now lets check out some good bands(music):
1)Lady Gaga - Her up-beat techno/dance music plus her "cool" voice and her dirty lyrics about sex and being drunk is unbelievably good. (Check out: Polker face, Just Dance, Love Game)
2) Katy Perry - Funny how both Gaga and Perry are big hits at the same time, but they are. Both artists are quite similar in music, both creating outragious yet good music. Katy's just doesnt seem to be as much into dance beats as Gaga to me. (Check out: Waking up in Vegas, Hot & Cold)
3) Shinedown - Ok, so you heard 1 song by this group, and you classified them as being a metal or punk band or w/e. Not all of his songs are so harsh. (Check out: If You Only Knew, Second Chance) and if you dont mind a little metal, (Check out: Sound of Maddness)

Now that i've updated you on manga and music, how about we take a look at some online games that I plan to TRY out. Please realize that I havent played these games yet, though i'd like to test them when my new computer comes. Due to RAM an graphics/video card issues, I havent been able to try them, but when it comes i'll give them a try.:

(These are NOT in any kind of order)

1) Mabinogi
2) Myth Wars

I'd like to RETURN TO PLAYING these games because with a better graphics card, they should run smoother:

3)Ragnarok Online (Private servers)
4)Trickster Online
5) Angels Online (Im currently playing this sure, but i'd like to run more game clients at the same time)

-----------

Well back to my new notebook:

I'd like to start this back off by saying that Fedex's site just did a smart thing. It knows my package is late, so it removes the estimated delievery date on the tracking page. :) Sorry Fedex, I still know it's late. As a customer it makes me angry, as a tech-lover it makes me laugh.

Anyway, when it comes i'll have Sucky-Mc.-Suckface Vista OS. Im not excited about having Vista as a OS, though I dont think i'll switch until Windows 7 comes out. And even then, that means re-installing Windows and programs.

Speaking of programs, I have some programs you might like. I plan to try them on Vista. Their websites say they are compatible with Vista, but until my notebook comes I wont know for sure. Everything below is FREE:

1) Adobe Reader Lite - Lighter version of adobe reader, which we all know is slow as heck.
2) Avira AntiVirus Software - Antivirus software
3) CCleaner - Cleans your Registry as well as things such as browser cookies an cache.
4) Comodo - Firewall. It has its flaws (likes to pop up and ask you if its ok for blah blah blah to run), but hey, it works. It even has a thing called "Threatcast", which shows you the percentage of what other users selected for the program in question.
5) CleanMem - RAM cleaner that runs in the background in your selected interavals, speeding up your computer nicely.
6) Defraggler - Computer defragmenter. "Wait, Windows comes with one of these." Ahem..You're trusting something by microsoft to get the job wrong? Yeah, try this instead.
7) Firefox - Best. Web Browser. Ever. (Check out my article on serveral web browsers: http://inuoko.blogspot.com/2009/07/firefox-or-opera-or-internet-explorer.html )
8) Flash Disinfector - Remove viruses like "auto-run" from your flashdrive. If you use school computers/library computers with your flashdrive like me, you might wanna give this a run every once in a while.
9) Game Booster - Boost computer [RAM] performance. I havent had this program more than a few months, but I cant live without it now. It temporarily shuts down background processes that are using your ram that you dont need. Simple to use. Great for while gaming (like the title says) but also other programs that use a lot of ram.
10) Malware Bytes - O.M.G. Love at first..scan. :) Found a lot of stuff my old antivirus software *cough*Mcafee free version*cough* missed, and now its installed on almost all the computers in my household.
11) Messenger Plus! Live - WLM Tweaker. If you're a Windows Live Messenger freak, then give this a try. Its PACKED with features and scripts/addons. Thanks to it, I can listen to music through my msn, customize my nickname/signature with funky colors and codes, have antivirus software IN my messenger to protect itself from getting infected, and many more.
12) Open Office - Microsoft Word's counterpart. Who needs to go out and spend money on Microsoft's Word, Powerpoint, and other similar programs when Open Office offers you similar programs FREE, AND are compatible with Microsoft's programs as well? :)
13) Opera - Web Browser. Faster than Firefox, great security. It just lacks all the uber-cool easy-to-install addons like Firefox. I love this browser while gaming though. Because its light on RAM, it doesnt lag up while I have my game minimized. To be honest? If this computer had the RAM, I'd probably rarely use Opera. I miss my addons.
14) Pazera_Free_FLV_to_AVI_Converter - It does what the title says, in a timely manner. :) Its not packed with uber-cool features- its nice a light, easy to use. It does what the title says it does.
15)RealPlayer11 - Music/Video/Video Downloader. Ok, so now that you have Pazera's converter, you realize you dont have any FLV files to convert. Just install RealPlayer11, go to Youtube or your favorite video site, and start downloading. Even downloads flash files. :)
16) AdAware AE - Ok, to be honest, it tells me nothing. But I believe it keeps a lot of adware from reaching my cpu in the first place. Read reviews online- its gooooood.
17) Spyware Blaster - Who has AdAware AE without Spyware Blaster? Two seperate programs that work nicely together.
18) WinRAR - Still using Winzip? Boooo. Try WinRAR. Unpacks more file extentions than Winzip.
19) WordWeb - Desktop Dictonary. Small window is perfect during research or gaming, and if WordWeb doesnt know you can try searching Wikipedia for it, right inside that small window! I've been using this program throughout highschool, I love it.
20) Getright - Download Manager. Before I used Firefox, I used shitty Internet Explorer. During that time I discovered Getright. If you're about to download a big file, try downloading it with this. In many cases, it will allow you to pause and resume downloads that you've either paused or because your internet disconnected.

Wow, 20 cool programs. :)

Here Are a few programs that I downloaded today that I wish to try:
1) Pivot Stickfigure Animator
2) Evensoft SGW (Html website code editor)
3) Top Style Lite 3.5 (CSS website code editor)

---------

Well thats all for this entry. Might blog something else later on today, who knows. :) See ya~<3Inuoko Shikamihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15225943949089007857noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-558527528224426434.post-17682544766446461822009-07-19T02:32:00.004-04:002009-07-19T02:59:28.038-04:00Firefox or Opera? or Internet Explorer!?http://nedwolf.com/Firefox-Opera-Comparison.htm

This link provides GREAT facts on which to choose (between Firefox and Opera), but this time I have a few pointers of my own to go along with it.

I've of course started off with Internet Explorer. I mean, havent just about all of us? Microsoft always shoves it down our throats because of they always pre-install it on your cpu. Sucks, I know. Dont be fulled by Windows 7...You can DISABLE it..It's still somewhere on ur cpu. :) Look hard enough I bet you'll find traces of it. Apon discovering and using Firefox (for nearly a year now), and while Opera only a couple of days, as a computer geek, i've decided that Firefox is still best out of the three. Why? Lets play rock paper scissors.

Firefox beats Internet Explorer because its faster, more secure, and ADDONS<3

Opera Beats Internet Explorer because its WAY faster, and more secure.

Opera ATTEMPTS to beat Firefox because its unbeliveable speed, (security might be matched, not sure???) but fails to do so because Firefox has those addons we all know and love.

So who should have what browser?

Internet Explorer is good for: No one. Who wants a browser that takes a year to open and then gets you a virus before you even go to a page?

Opera is good for: Your below average to average computer user. You just want to quickly surf the net, securely pay some bills, and be on your way. You're rarely on the computer anyway so who needs a fancy browser?

Firefox is good for: Your average to advance user/teenager/web-savy person. You dont have to be a computer geek or kno how 2 speak in cpu slang, but you need MORE than just the basics. Maybe you like to blog websites you see? A person made a great firefox addon for that, I love it. Who needs to VISIT twitter to post 1 little message when theres an addon where you can post from your address bar. :) Firefox makes life on the net easier, more entertaining, and just plain awesome. Sure its speed cant compete with Opera but it tries its best. Besides, you're probably slowing Firefox down with all your uber-cool addons that Opera doesnt have anyway. :) Did I mention that i've seen an "Opera Speedial" addon for Firefox? :) Yeah, if it wasnt for Operas speed, it would probably go near-obsolete.

Go Firefox!<3Inuoko Shikamihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15225943949089007857noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-558527528224426434.post-88506794488825057342009-07-18T22:42:00.006-04:002009-07-18T23:32:08.191-04:00!EXTENDED!
